011adapted from Miss Kay’s Duck Commander Kitchen cookbook

Chili with Beans

1 pound hamburger meat
2 teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
2 cans (8 ounces each) tomato sauce
1 can (28 ounce) diced tomatoes
2 cans water
1 can (15 ounce) chili beans

In a Dutch oven, brown the meat over medium heat. Drain off any grease that remains. Add the salt, chili powder, flour, red pepper flakes (if using), tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, water and the beans and bring to a boil. Lower to a simmer, cover and cook 1 hour, until thickened.
